Ingredients

Brownies

  • Boxed Mix or homemade, baked and cut into small squares (there will probably be leftover brownies)

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp Dark Chocolate cocoa powder
  • 2 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • pinch of salt, a small pinch of salt enhances the chocolate flavor
  • 1/4 tsp espresso powder (optional--espresso powder also enhances the chocolate flavor)

Other

  • Crushed Oreos, I used the berry-filled, about 2 per glass (I used small mason jars)
  • Strawberries, sliced
  • Dark chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • With a mixer, beat the heavy cream on med-high speed until it begins to thicken, about 3-4 minutes depending upon the power of your mixer.
  • Turn the mixer off and add in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, salt, and espresso powder.
  • Turn the mixer back on, and beat on med-high speed until the cream forms stiff peaks and has the consistency of whipped cream, about 2-3 more minutes.
  • To assemble the trifles, begin with a layer of crushed Oreos on the bottom of the glass. Top the Oreos with a layer of whipped cream. On top of the whipped cream, place a layer of brownie pieces. Add sliced strawberries on top of the brownies. Repeat the process (Oreos, whipped cream, brownies, strawberries, and a final layer of Oreos). Finish the trifles with a dollop of whipped cream.
  • Once you have finished assembling all of the trifles, use a potato peeler to shave dark chocolate onto the top of each trifle.
  • Enjoy!
