{Easy} S’mores Pops: These fun, tasty s’mores pops have all the campfire taste without the campfire! Made indoors, you can have these s’mores any day of the week! Plus, each mallow is stuffed with a Hershey’s Rolo!
Do you remember that scene in The Sandlot where Porter asks Smalls if he wants a s’more, and Smalls, being the lovable, chocolate-deprived kid that he is, is more confused than he was about appropriate baseball attire (you know, a hat that’s not the size of Texas) and who Babe(y) Ruth actually was–some woman, or the Babe, aka, the Colossus of Clout?
I said the exact words when I bit into one these chocolatey s’mores pops: “You’re killin’ me, Smalls.”
These adorable indoor s’mores pops are just what summer called for–an easy, less-than-10-minute dessert that’s fun for all ages.
It’s a beautiful thing.
I’ve always been a s’mores person. I just don’t think summer can truly be called summer if I didn’t have at least one s’more during the season. So, let’s make them tonight, right?
It’s like going through the Christmas season without having a peppermint mocha. Or bellowing “White Christmas” in your best impression of Louis Armstrong at the top of your lungs…in the safety of your car, of course (are you embarrassed by me yet? Or just for me? It happens 😉 ).
To make a really long tangent short, s’mores and summer go hand in hand.
Indoor s’mores are totally just as fun as outdoor s’mores. Plus, these ones sit on sticks, and it’s a fact that foods on sticks taste better.
And, because I think surprise fillings make the world a better place, I opted to stuff each marshmallow with a Hershey’s Rolo.
Ohhh. Yes, yes I did.
Step 1: Press a Rolo into the center of each marshmallow and place each marshmallow on top of each graham cracker half. Now, you might be tempted to use two marshmallows, but trust me, stick with one. Trying to dip a two-marshmallow s’more into chocolate = one giant mess.
Step 2: While the marshmallows are broiling into a nice golden brown color, melt some Hershey’s chocolate and a touch of vegetable oil in the microwave (the vegetable oil helps thin out the chocolate, which makes it easier to dip the s’mores in). Once smooth and melted, set aside and allow to cool. Once the marshmallows have browned, take them out of the oven and place a square of chocolate over each marshmallow.
Step 3: Place the graham tops on each s’more, and stick a skewer firmly in each s’more.
Step 4: Dunk half of the s’more into the melted chocolate, and sprinkle with some crushed graham cracker crumbs.
- 8 Honey Maid graham cracker halves plus 2 Tbsp graham cracker crumbs
- 4 bars of Hershey's chocolate
- 4 Large Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
- 4 Hershey's Rolos
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 4 skewers
- Lay out 4 graham cracker squares onto a baking sheet. Stuff each marshmallow with a Rolo and place each marshmallow on a graham cracker. Put under your oven's broiler (or, if you don't have a broiler, in a 400 degree oven) for a couple of minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown (if you prefer charred marshmallows, feel free to leave them in longer).
- While the marshmallows are turning golden brown, melt 3 of the chocolate bars with the vegetable oil in a small, deep dish in the microwave. Because chocolate can burn easily, melt in 30-second increments on 50% power, stirring after each interval. Once smooth, set aside (the vegetable oil helps thin out the chocolate slightly, making it easier to dip the s'mores into it).
- Pull marshmallows out, and break the remaining chocolate bar into 4 even pieces. Place each piece of chocolate onto the marshmallows.
- Top with remaining graham cracker squares, and poke the skewer into the marshmallow.
- Dip each s'more into the melted chocolate, sprinkle with crushed graham cracker crumbs, and serve immediately!
- Enjoy!
*This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to feed a large crowd.
*I like my s'mores pops with melting chocolate, but you can easily pop these into the fridge for a couple of minutes to let the chocolate set.
