The Best Apple Bundt Cake Recipe with a Spiced Glaze
For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been battling 90+ degree temperatures despite the fact it’s the middle of November. Nothing says “Seasons Greetings” like wearing a sundress and flip flops, because even thinking about wearing a sweater makes you break out into a sweat.
So, the ankle boots, sweaters, and scarves have all been relegated to the back of the closet along with my other fall hopes and dreams (like using a blanket or wearing socks). It’s not been great. Here’s to hoping that winter brings with it an onslaught of freezing temperatures. Or, at least temperatures below 80 (I’m a realist).
While it might feel like summer outside, I’ve been semi-successfully trying to create a fall/winter atmosphere inside. From brewing seasonally appropriate flavored coffee to all the seasonal scents you could imagine to baking all the apple desserts (like these Apple Pecan Donuts, Apple Pie Muffin Twists, and Apple Spice Candied Nuts), I’ve been desperately trying to make it a full on winter wonderland inside the house.
This cake definitely brought us one step closer to said winter wonderland. Apples. Spices. Cake. Enough said.
Reasons This Is The Perfect Apple Bundt:
Obviously, I’m a big fan of cake. It might be the perfect dessert, but I can’t quite commit 100% to that idea just yet. However, this apple version is perfect, especially when baked in a bundt pan. Not only can I run the My Big Fat Greek Wedding quote into the ground, it’s also the easiest way to bake a cake from start to finish. A simple, yet stunning dessert for any party!
It’s such a moist apple bundt cake, because it’s made with oil, greek yogurt, diced apples and shredded apples.
And, the cinnamon glaze. It’s outstanding.
Ingredients for this easy apple cake:
- All Purpose Flour
- Brown Sugar and Granulated Sugar
- Baking Soda and Salt
- Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Allspice
- Eggs
- Canola Oil
- Greek Yogurt
- Vanilla Extract
- Orange zest and juice
- Fresh Apples
- Powdered Sugar
- Heavy Cream
How To Make This Bundt Apple Cake From Scratch:
Dry Ingredients: Mix all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl (or you can use the bowl of your standing mixer).
Wet Ingredients: Make a well in the center of your dry ingredients; then add in the eggs and oil and mix until just dispersed. Add in the greek yogurt, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Apples: Lastly add in the chopped apples and the shredded apples and mix until combined.
Bake: Pour the batter into a well greased bundt pan and bake for about 60 minutes.
Cool: Let the apple cake cool in the bundt cake pan for about 15 minutes. Then, invert the cake pan on a serving dish or a wire cooling rack and let the cake cool another 15 minutes.
Glaze: As the apple spice cake cools, whisk together powdered sugar, cinnamon, heavy cream (or milk), and vanilla extract. Once combined, drizzle over the top of the warm apple bundt cake.
Quick and Easy Tips To Making This Moist Apple Bundt Cake:
- Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for about 2 days, otherwise store in the fridge for 3-4 days.
- Bundt Pan: Use a 12-cup bundt cake pan and make sure you grease the pan very well!
- Icing: You can use just a plain vanilla icing too if you don’t want to make this a spiced icing.
- Nuts: If you want, you can toast walnuts or pecans, chop them finely, and fold them into the apple cake batter (or you can sprinkle them on top of the glaze).

I made this cake last week and it was delicious! Thank you for the recipe. I’m a lazy baker so I just threw everything in my Kitchen Aid and it still turned out wonderful and moist. I also traded a vanilla glaze for maple and nom-nom-nom the cake is gone now.

This brings back some memories. My mother used to make a spice cake that she served warm and drizzled with a warm cinnamon/vanilla glaze. I’ve been looking for a similar recipe.
