Is grey hair still considered distinguished if you’re in your 20’s?
Asking for a friend…
Said friend also coughed the other day and felt her back spasm–like, actually, seize up and spasm.
Cool. The future is looking really, really bright.
Umm, since aging clearly happens a lot sooner than I could have ever anticipated, let’s all just eat Caramel Whipped Cream by the spoonful, yeah?
I mean, we could definitely put it on all the desserts and lattes (you know, like Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie, Rustic Dutch Apple Pie, and Maple Pumpkin Spice Latte), and I tell ya, I wouldn’t be mad about it. But, I also wouldn’t be mad if we shared a bowl of this and called it a day.
Ya with me?!
Okay, so I do kind of feel weird sharing a “recipe” that’s only 2-ingredients.
However, I’m a big fan of homemade whipped cream. It’s thick and rich, and you can customize it with any flavors or ingredients you want.
I certainly am not opposed to canned whipped cream by any means, but, in the event you have time to make homemade whipped cream, I’d encourage you to give it a try! It really is simple, and it tastes ah-mazing!
So, despite the fact this is kind of a non-recipe recipe, I am super excited to share this with you all! I know a lot of people have never made homemade whipped cream before, and this tutorial can help you get a feel for how easy it is to make whipped cream at home.
(It’s really easy!)
This caramel whipped cream comes together with heavy whipping cream and caramel sauce.
Typically, most whipped cream recipes call for powdered sugar to sweeten the cream (like this classic Easy Homemade Whipped Cream recipe here), but given how sweet caramel sauce is, I opted to omit any extra powdered sugar.
I used jarred ice cream caramel sauce, although you could easily use a homemade caramel sauce if you wanted to be all cool and fancy. 😜 I wanted to keep this recipe as simple as possible, so I went for the jarred stuff.
I know, this probably sounds like an oxymoron–I’m pushing for homemade whipped cream yet I’m using jarred caramel sauce??
Okay, so here’s the thing. In my personal opinion, while I do like canned whipped cream and do use it in a pinch, I find it a little thin and…droopy? Homemade whipped cream, on the other hand, is thick, super rich, and has a fuller, more embodied flavor.
And, the reason why I went for store-bought caramel sauce is because making homemade caramel sauce can be tricky.
Store-bought caramel sauce is sweet, simple, and the perfect consistency for this 2-Ingredient Caramel Whipped Cream recipe. So, it’s the perfect combination of easy and homemade!
Happy whipping! This 2-ingredient Caramel Whipped Cream recipe is about as good as it gets.
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
- 3-5 Tbsp caramel sauce
- Using a hand mixer or standing mixer, in a large bowl, whip heavy whipping cream on medium speed until cream has started to thicken (about 2-3 minutes, depending upon the speed/power of your mixer.)
- Add in the caramel sauce (3 Tbsp if you prefer a subtle sweetness in your whipped cream; 4 or 5 Tbsp if you want a sweeter cream.)
- Whip on medium speed until whipped cream has thickened up and reached stiff peeks (see video above if needed.)
- Use immediately, or store in the fridge (for up to 10-12 hours.)
- Enjoy!

I made a Turtle Poke Cake this weekend and used a chocolate whipped cream frosting. Meh. It just wasn’t caramelly enough for me. So I thought, in addition to the caramel filling, I should use a caramel frosting too. I love whipped cream frostings and can’t wait to try this. One tip I have is to use 1 Tablespoon of instant pudding mix per cup of whipping cream for the easiest stabilized whipped cream EVER! It will last for days.
